Seamless, silky and just drinking perfectly. I don’t think the 1990 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape is going to fade anytime soon but I’d drink them if you have them and I can’t imagine this getting better. The best bottle of this I've had; the 1990 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape was picture perfect with layers of red fruits, dried spice, leather and earthy notes, medium body, perfect, seamless texture and a long finish. The 1990 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape is very ripe with earthy and sweet fruit, lots of spice and subtle funk and horse notes. The palate is borderline full bodied with ripe, lush and mouth filling fruit that carries into the long finish. This lacks the precision of the 1989 and is more open knit but makes up for it with a spectacular, lush and rich texture. While I've always thought I preferred the 1989 to the 1990, this bottle has me reevaluating that train of thought. Showing an amazingly young color with only some lightening at the edges, the 1990 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape possessed a killer nose of sweet fruit, earth, leather, sauvage and spice aromas. Big, perfumed and complex with great depth and purity. The palate was seamless, perfectly integrated and had a core of ripe, sweet fruit that bordered on being lush and carried into a long finish.
