Coming from the cooler climate Chaupin vineyard in the northern part of the region, the mostly grenache 2000 Domaine de la Janasse Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Chaupin Shows fantastic aromatics of kirsch and framboise intermixed with garrigue, saddle leather, licorice and spring flowers. This leads into a medium to full bodied palate with rich fruit, beautiful balance and a savory texture that carries into the long finish.  Still youthful and exuberant, this is drinking beautifully.
