Domaine du Pegau

This traditionally run domain needs little introduction. Pegau ("A wine jug") consists of 17 hectares and 11 different vineyards and was created in 1987 when Laurence, the daughter of Paul and Odette Feraud, returned from studying wine making and started working with her father.
The cellars are surprisingly small and due to the amount of wine, bottlings are done over some time. They do a cuvee Laurence which according to Laurence is nothing more than the Réservée bottling (i.e. the same blend) yet bottled at a much later date. This wine sees no new oak yet is kept in small, used barrels for a much longer period due to the later bottling. These wines are not destemmed and annual production from the Cuvee Reservee is ~50,000 bottles.
