Domaine Pierre Usseglio

A family business started by Francis Usseglio, originally from Piedmont, in 1948, this estate started out with 8 hectares and has since grown to encompass a total of 22 hectares in Chateauneuf du Pape that are divided into 15 different parcels. It is currently run by the sons, Jean Pierre and Thierry Usseglio. The majority of the vines are roughly 60 years in age and they produce a traditional blend (75% grenache with the rest Syrah, Cinsault and Mourvèdre), a Mon Aieul – “ Cuvee of my Grandfather” (100% grenache from three parcels; Serres, Bedine and La Crau. This wine sees no new wood), and a Reserve Deux Freres - “The two brothers” (90% Grenache, 10% syrah and sees 60% barrique, new and used).
